Chief of Staff

The Chief of Staff (CoS) is responsible for the implementation of MTD’s mission, vision, core values, and initiatives. This position works closely with the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) and Chief Operating Officer (COO) to ensure seamless integration of the District’s and Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer’s (CEO) strategic direction. Functions reporting directly to the CoS are Customer Service and Marketing/Communications. The CoS serves in the place of the Managing Director, as needed. The CoS operates in coordination with and under the direction of the Managing Director. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of public transportation policies and procedures.

Education Requirements

BA/BS in Public Administration, Transportation, Urban Planning, Business Administration, or a related field; including a broad course work background

Experience Requirements

Seven years of experience in progressively responsible positions in public transportation

Specific training and/or extensive experience in personnel management, preferably in a senior management position

Other Information

Currently possess, or obtain within 6 months of hire, a CDL with passenger endorsement

Candidates for this position must pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical. The employee will be subject to random drug and alcohol testing throughout their period of employment and is required to comply with MTD’s Drug & Alcohol Policy.
