Maps & Schedules

When you need to get to what matters, MTD is here to help. This is where you’ll find everything you need to plan and take your trips—an app to pay your fare, a list of current reroutes, system and school maps, and much more. Still have questions? Give us a call at 217.384.8188.

Routes

New to MTD's system? Or just learning a new route? You can find all the specific route information you’ll need here, including a list of local landmarks for each route.

Bus Stops

Each & every trip on MTD begins and ends at a designated bus stop, so it's important to know the different types of bus stops, how to find information at each stop, & what those SMS codes mean on every bus stop sign.

Trip Planner

Ready to roll? MTD's Trip Planner is easy to use and the most accurate way to plan your trip. Let's get started. This is the easiest thing you'll do all day.

Schools

Plan your school trip simply & easily! Enter your starting or home address & MTD's school trip planner will automatically show you the stops nearest you, identify your school's start time, & show you the best route to school.

Maps

Find any of MTD's system maps, a map of the entire District, or a full copy of the latest Maps & Schedules book here.

Apps

Install mtd.org on your mobile device or take a look at third-party apps. Featured apps do everything from allowing passengers to pay an MTD fare from their mobile device to enabling Alexa to read aloud upcoming departure times.

Reroutes

When road construction, water main breaks, public events, & other situations cause traffic delays, MTD's Control Center works hard to respond. Check here for a constantly updated list of all current reroutes.

UIUC Learn To Ride

With a valid iCard, University of Illinois students, faculty, and staff have unlimited access to MTD bus service on 25 routes across campus and throughout the community, including fixed-route buses and on-demand van service. We look forward to serving you while you are here with us - welcome aboard, Illini!

Public Hearing

MTD's Planning team reviews system schedules annually and offers suggestions to improve service. Public meetings are scheduled every spring to present the recommendations and solicit public feedback on the proposed changes.
