C-CARTS is searching for a new part-time Scheduler!

The C-CARTS Scheduler assists with providing the highest quality of customer service by using all tools available to maintain optimum service levels. This is accomplished by assisting in the management of such things as the assignment of runs, personnel, equipment, the alteration and manipulation of run schedules as needed, in response to ever changing operational conditions. Record keeping and clerical functions are performed incidental to these responsibilities.

This position is Monday - Friday. 

Education Requirements

A high school degree or equivalent is required. 

Experience Requirements

  • Experience in a busy office environment with moderate interruptions is preferred. 
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills  

Responsibilities

  • Monitors bus and street conditions for schedule and procedure compliance 
  • In coordination with other Schedulers, changes run schedules and equipment to respond to system problems to maintain efficient and effective service 
  • Assists in all emergency situations involving vehicles such as intervening with problem passengers, communicating accident information, performing redirection of service and directing responding personnel to an area 
  • Provides information to the public and assist with scheduling transportation 
  • Completes record keeping and data reporting

C-CARTS operates from 4AM - 7PM, Monday - Friday.

Physical Demands 

The exertion level required for this position while performing office duties is generally considered light work. Physical requirements include stooping, bending, standing, squatting/crouching, pushing/pulling, and reaching above shoulders. While performing the duties of this job, employees are often required to sit, with regular periods of walking and standing; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to finger, handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; use vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally or a up to 10 lbs. of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. 

Work Environment 

The work environment involves exposure to conditions generally found in an office setting within a shared workspace. The noise level is quiet to moderate. There are frequent interruptions to this position’s workflow with moderate foot traffic. There is an expectation to hold and attend meetings on a regular basis. 

Additional Information 

  • Work shifts vary from day to night, as needed. C-CARTS operates Monday through Friday, including holidays, and this position may require some work outside of traditional business hours.  
  • All MTD employees are trained on the Management System Policy and the impacts associated with this position.  
  • Applicant must pass a pre-employment background check, physical, and drug and alcohol testing.  
  • The employee will be subject to random drug and alcohol testing throughout their period of employment and is required to comply with MTD’s Drug & Alcohol Policy which includes being cannabis-free in all safety-sensitive positions.

Wage: $19.47 - $22.17/per hour based on experience
