West Connect is a van service that operates within designated areas not served by fixed routes. It provides a connection between outlying areas and fixed-route service. West Connect provides curb-to-curb service. West Connect operates inside the boundaries illustrated on the map.

There are two ways to ride West Connect: Passengers may use the MTD Connect App or call 217.384.8188 to schedule a ride to or from anywhere within the boundaries.

Download the MTD Connect App for free from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store and register yourself.

Open the App, enter your origin, destination, and number of people; and tap “Create Journey”. The App will consider the origin, destination, time, fixed-route bus schedule, and other requested trips. It will then provide an itinerary. If the trip is acceptable, tap “Book Trip” to book the ride. Monitor the App for updated trip information. If your trip goes outside the West Connect service area, you will need to transfer from the van to a fixed-route bus (or vice versa) at Round Barn Road or the Stephens Family YMCA.

You can also call 217.384.8188 to book a trip. Provide the dispatcher with the following information: your name (first and last), phone number, email address, pick-up location (street address/landmark), and destination. If your trip is within the West Connect boundaries or at the Round Barn Road or Stephens Family YMCA transfer locations, the dispatcher will enter the trip into the system and will give you the details of the trip.

As a courtesy to other West Connect passengers, please be at the scheduled location when the Operator arrives. Upon arriving at a pick-up location, the West Connect Operator will only wait two minutes for passengers to board before continuing to the next scheduled pick-up/drop-off location.

Requests will be taken until 6:00 PM for trips to be completed by 6:30 PM.
