Spring Break Service Reductions Begin Saturday, March 15
MTD reduces service during all University of Illinois Breaks, including Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer. To coincide with the University of Illinois’ Spring Break occurring Saturday, March 15 - 22, MTD is reducing scheduled service beginning Saturday, March 15. Regular MTD service will continue throughout Friday evening, and will resume Sunday, March 23.
We would also like to remind passengers that with the start of Daylight Saving Time on Sunday, March 9, our SafeRides service begins at 7PM instead of 5PM.
SafeRides
Full SafeRides service ends at 6:30 AM on March 15. Reduced SafeRides service will operate from 7PM - on the evening of March 15 to early Sunday morning March 16 at 12:30AM; there will be no SafeRides service on Sunday, March 16.
Reduced SafeRides service will operate from 7PM-12:30AM from March 17 – March 23. Full SafeRides service resumes at 7PM on March 24.
Fixed Route Reductions
- 1 Yellow Hopper: Will not operate
- 2 Red: Trips with the L and U footnotes do not operate
- 12 Teal: Operating the Non-UI Weekday schedule; 20-minute frequencies
- 13 Silver: Operating the Non-UI Weekday schedule; 20-minute frequencies
- 22/220 Illini Limited: 20-minute frequencies and abbreviated routing during all day types
- 120 Teal Evening & Weekend: Operating the Non-UI schedule; 20-minute frequencies
- 130 Silver Limited: Abbreviated routing during Weekday Evenings and throughout the Weekend at 20-minute frequencies
- Late Night: No Late Night (after midnight) service on the 50 Green, 100 Yellow, 120 Teal, 130 Silver Limited, or 220 Illini Limited
- Sunday Service: No Sunday Evening or Late Night service. This affects the 50 Green, 100 Yellow, 120 Teal, 130 Silver Limited, and 220 Illini Limited.
