MTD would like to remind the public that there will be NO SERVICE on Memorial Day, Monday, May 26, 2025. We're asking riders to make other travel arrangements to allow MTD Operators, Maintenance employees, and Staff time off with their families to honor our Armed Forces during this holiday.

To coincide with the University of Illinois’ Summer Break occurring May 17 – August 21, 2025, MTD is reducing scheduled service effective Saturday, May 17. There will be no service on Memorial Day, Monday, May 26, or on Independence Day, Friday, July 4.

MTD will be hosting a series of Public Hearings to showcase proposed Fall Service changes for our 2025-2026 Service Year, and to collect and respond to community feedback.

Beginning Tuesday, January 21, all MTD passengers will be upgraded to Transit Royale, the premium subscription in the Transit app. Along with this complimentary upgrade, passengers will have access to additional features, custom branding, and new customization options.

MTD's Bike Box Rap video shows cyclists and motorists what to do in and near the new Bike Boxes in Campustown. New to the University of Illinois Campus in Fall 2018, Bike Boxes were installed as part of the MCORE Project and are designed to help keep cyclists safe.
