No MTD Service on Labor Day | Monday, September 2
SERVICE ALERT!! Summer is coming to a close, bringing with it a number of milestones, including Labor Day. MTD will be closed for service on Monday, September 2, and is asking riders to make alternative travel arrangements to allow our Operators, Maintenance employees, and Staff time off with their families.
MTD’s Sunday services will continue as scheduled throughout the evening of September 1. Even though MTD will not be in service on Monday, Illinois Terminal will remain open for regional arrivals and departures of Amtrak and third-party intercity busing. Regular MTD service will resume early Tuesday morning.
MTD's fixed-route service, ADA Paratransit services, SafeRides service, and Customer Service Desks are closed on Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve (evening service only), Christmas Day, New Year's Eve (evening service only), and New Year's Day. MTD urges riders to plan ahead for travel on these days and call 217.384.8188 with any questions. We hope everyone enjoys the holiday weekend.
