No Service on Independence Day | Friday, July 4

Service Alert!! Summer is in full swing, and we are all looking forward to spending time with our friends and family this season. MTD would like to remind the public that there will be no service on Independence Day, Friday, July 4. We're asking riders to make other travel arrangements to allow MTD Operators, Maintenance employees, and Staff time off with their families for the holiday.

MTD service will continue as scheduled throughout Thursday evening. Illinois Terminal will remain open for regional arrivals and departures of Amtrak and intercity busing, but MTD routes will not be in operation, and our Customer Service desk will be closed. Regular MTD service will resume Saturday morning, July 5.

Each year, MTD fixed-route buses, vans, ADA Paratransit services, and Customer Service are closed on Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve (evening service only), Christmas Day, New Year's Eve (evening service only), New Year's Day, and Easter Sunday. MTD urges riders to plan ahead for travel on these days and call 217.384.8188 with any questions.

Have a great summer!
